What Is a Lumber Takeoff?
A lumber takeoff is a complete list of the framing material needed to build a project. It covers wall framing, floor and roof framing, engineered lumber, sheathing, hardware and the labor to install it.
Framing bids depend on an exact count. A missing wall, a wrong stud spacing or a header schedule left out of the count can leave you short on site or carrying extra material. We take off lumber from the architectural and structural sheets in PlanSwift and Bluebeam and list it by size and length, ready for your supplier.
